Digital Vitrine: a toy showcase #2
Have you ever been in Sequoia National Park after a good snowfall? I have and in my mind I can imagine this tree hanging dragon, tail taut and coiled, waiting patient--silent--in the heart of an old grove. Waiting for prey; a delectable find such as a curious traveler distracted, and awed by the majesty of the colossal forest, slowed to a crawl by the heavy snow. Ice glistening in the gray shag of the ferine beast catches the visual periphery of the naif traveler. Falling to the ground in a convulsion of debilitating fear becomes a fortuitous miracle: saving the traveler from a dragon-jaw decapitation...
Why I like this one:
Perhaps it is connected to the dragons prevalence in all past and present mythology; every culture on this planet has had tales of these inscrutable beasts. I do not think we will ever escape their appeal or the pull they exert on our primal fascination.
I have other dragons that may make their way into a future Digital Vitrine.
